Door to door delivery is one of the fastest growing industries globally. Being a courier is a fast paced job with lots of exposure to the environment. Driver responsibilities are to operate company owned vehicles to facilitate the distribution of freight efficiantly. Working independently to deliver consumer goods and products door to door as well as small and large lots to commercial locations. The majority of the day is spent physically handling deliveries, and driving short distances. Experience as a courier is considered highly but not required. Trades people with similar experience and transferable skills are urged to apply.

Required:

• Clean drivers abstract is mandatory and must be provided
• 3 Years commercial driving experience
• Valid G driver’s license
• Experience and knowledge of street names, postal codes, and areas within Thunder Bay
• Able to lift and carry heavy loads up to 75 lbs.
• Able to walk long distances and work in adverse conditions
• Able to organize and prioritize tasks accurately in a fast paced environment
• Able to communicate effectively and provide excellent customer service

Other Qualifications:

• Experience driving various delivery vehicles including cargo vans, cube vans, step vans, heavy machinery, etc.
• Experience using hand held scanners. Understanding of IT and database functionality.
• Experience using hand carts, dollies and hydraulic pallet jacks
• WHMIS and Dangerous Goods Handling certificate considered an asset
